April was BUSY. So busy that I forgot to blog! Being busy is a great thing when you own your own business, so no complaints. Getting through the winter is somewhat challenging in the Midwest, but the warm months are upon us, which means the school year is winding down and we look forward to fun activities outdoors and taking some time off to enjoy summer fun. It can be tough to stay motivated in our work life without staring out the window and daydreaming about enjoying the weather. While you may not feel like working, this time of year can be a perfect moment to reset and plan for the months to come. Planning can make your work more efficient and getting organized doesn't really feel like work, but it does feel like progress. Some things to consider:

  • Planning your social media calendar for the next 6 months, thinking about themes for each month and creating and scheduling posts.
  • Planning a retreat for your staff either during the summer or in the early fall. This retreat could include a strategic planning session where you can work with your team to improve various aspects of your business/organization.
  • Look ahead to the holiday season. Will you have an event with your staff, and if so, this is a great time to secure a venue and think about possible gifts for both employees and customers.
  • Think about your marketing strategy, and perhaps take some time to collect testimonials from past and current customers that you can use for social media and on your website.
  • Enhance your presence on Google by asking clients and customers for reviews (hopefully all positive!) Adding YouTube videos to your site and social media helps as well.
  • Audit your website. Do all the links work? Is there content on there that is old and needs to be taken off or replaced?
  • Finally, get organized! Take time to clean out your office, closets, desktop files, and email inbox.

Changing up your day-to-day routine can make working inside during the beautiful weather a little more tolerable! As always, we are here to help you move the ball forward, so don’t hesitate to contact us to help with marketing, strategic planning, and more! Happy Spring!
