Summer flew by, and now we head back into another school year and all of the activities that come with it. This year, we have a senior in high school and an 8th grader. It's a pivotal year for both, and a little bit of a tough one for Mama Bear. As much as I am excited for them, I know that seeing them exit middle school and high school will be a bit sad. However, I am happy to be back into a routine, a rhythm of life that is predictable. As much as I love having summer fun, the day to day routine of the school year is something that I love as well.

With each new school year, it is a fresh start, a new beginning, the slate is clean. As we watch students enter the new year with a fresh pair of eyes, let us all take some time to take a breath and consider what new beginning we may have to look forward to in our work. Is there something new and different we can implement in our business policies or marketing strategy? Could we reach out to donors in a different way than we have in the past? And, what are some opportunities we may have for self-growth to improve our mental well-being?

Before we know it, 2024 will be here, and there is another fresh start, so let's prepare now. Take some time today to make a list of things you could look to do differently that can improve your work and personal life. Perhaps your list could include: volunteer more, revamp the website, post on social media more, find a conference to attend, and sit down for a meal with the family at least one night per week. By making a list like this, it already feels like a win, a fresh start.

Cheers to a new school year, and fresh starts for all!
